THE PERCEPTION WE HAVE OF ODOURS AND FLAVOURS DEPENDS ON OUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE |
Vinologik proposes sessions aimed at discovering your taste profile by way of a wine-tasting event hosted by a professional sommelier. The goal of the session is to establish your oenological profile while providing you with precious information about wines.
First of all, our sommelier will teach you the basics of wine tasting. We will help you use the proper terms to identify your feelings and explain some of the complex terms used in the world of wines.
Then, you will be invited to blind taste six wines of different types and profiles. These wines are selected for their overall qualitative characteristics and properties. Between each tasting, you can answer a simple questionnaire with the help of your hosting sommelier. Your appreciation will enable us to determine your taste profile.
Blind tasting is not aimed at discovering a vintage, an appellation or a region. Wine tasting with Vinologik is the capacity to analyze and measure the sensations we perceive.
While you complete your wine tasting, your questionnaires will be processed by our information system and we will be able to present you with your taste profile before you leave the session. We will provide you with a summary list of wines that match your Vinologik profile. You can obtain a more comprehensive list on the Vinologik 'private member section'. We will counsel you as to when and how to drink the wines that correspond to your tastes. Most of all, we will show you how to choose the wines that match your profile. |

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VINOLOGIK TASTE PROFILES AND THE SAQ TASTE TAGS |
To this day, the SAQ
(in Quebec) has classified over 1,000 of the wines it sells in SAQ outlets or online. The wines are divided into eight categories, classified by coloured tags: four for red wines and four for white wines.
The SAQ tags identify the types of wines.
The Vinologik
profiles
identify
individual
tastes without
regard to wines
or their colour.
During an
olfactory and
gustatory wine
event, you will
answer a
questionnaire
that will allow
us to establish
your profile.
Once your
personal profile
is established,
it will be
easier for you
to choose your
wines by
selecting the
SAQ tags that
correspond to
your profile or
by choosing the
types of vines
and regions that
we suggest.
